🏁 LOTO Shootout Offshore – Race Recap

πŸ“ Lake of the Ozarks, MO
πŸ“… 2026 Race #4
🏁 Class: Pro Class 1
πŸ”’ Finish: 3rd

Lake of the Ozarks gave us another weekend full of weather, shortened schedules, and the kind of racing chaos that seems to follow offshore wherever it goes.

We rolled in late Thursday and started getting the pits set up, with the threat of storms hanging over just about everything from the start. Between weather delays and schedule changes, nearly every part of the weekend was shortened or adjusted.

Friday was spent getting everything dialed in and ready to go, and by Saturday, it was time to race.

With testing cut out completely, qualifying was our first real shot to get on the water. The team went out and qualified 2nd, putting us in a strong position heading into a shortened Race 1.

On the first lap, our boat and DMR’s boat got tied up, resulting in DMR going over and bringing the race to an early end. Most importantly, we’re glad everyone was okay. Boats can be fixed, race weekends can be moved on from, but seeing everyone walk away safe is what matters most.

Sunday brought a fresh start and two races on the schedule.

Race 1 was fairly tame compared to the rest of the weekend. Billy and Kevin ran a solid race and brought the boat home in 2nd place.

Race 2, unfortunately, didn’t go the way we wanted. On the first lap out, Billy and Kevin felt a vibration that was all too familiar. After getting the boat back in and looking things over, we found that another prop had thrown a blade, ending the weekend for us earlier than planned.

Even with the setbacks, the team still came away with a 2nd and 4th place finish, giving us 3rd overall for the weekend.

Not the cleanest weekend and definitely not the easiest, but the Outta Pocket crew kept fighting through weather, shortened races, and more prop issues. We’ll take the points, take the lessons, and keep moving forward.
